Compact Laminate HPL Knife Scales - Red, Twin Pair

A proper alternative to micarta or G10, at roughly half the price. Compact laminate is built the same way — layers bonded under high pressure — and it behaves the same way on a knife: dense, strong, and completely indifferent to water.

It sands and polishes cleanly, takes epoxy without any surface prep beyond a scuff, and resists wear the way a synthetic should. Unlike wood it never needs stabilising, never swells and never cracks around a pin.

The red runs through the full thickness, so a chipped corner or a deep sanding pass never exposes a different colour underneath.

Currently available in Red and Green. Suits EDC, kitchen and outdoor builds equally — anywhere a wooden handle would be the wrong call.
