Knife blanks ground, hardened and ready for your handle. Every blank knife blade here is laser cut from Böhler or Uddeholm steel, hand ground in our workshop and heat treated at Voestalpine, the mill that makes the steel. Choose by steel below, fit your scales or block, and finish the knife. Blades ship sharpened unless you ask otherwise, and laser engraving is free.

The hardness is published

Look at how blade blanks are usually sold and you will notice something missing. “Heat treated.” “Hardened.” “Consistent hardness.” Almost nobody prints an actual number.

We do, on every product page: 1.4116 at 54–57 HRC, N690 at 58–60, AEB-L at 60, Sleipner at 60–62, Elmax at 60–61, Vanax at 60, M390 at 60–61, Vanadis 4 Extra at 63–64. That number matters more than the steel name — a soft premium steel underperforms a properly hardened budget one, and you cannot tell them apart by looking.

Why we can print it

We buy steel directly from Voestalpine, laser cut and hand grind every blade in our own workshop on belt grinders using jigs made for each profile, then send the ground blades back to the mill for heat treatment. Industrial vacuum furnaces, documented cycles, and a cryogenic step for the powder steels. No scale, no decarburised layer, and the same hardness batch after batch.
