Knife Making Kits
Knife making kits for building a knife at home without a grinder or a heat treat oven. Each kit holds a blade that is already ground, heat treated and sharpened, a CNC machined handle cut to fit it, and the handle screws that hold the two together. Choose an N690 kit, a small fruit knife kit in N690, AEB-L or 1.4116, or a kit with two interchangeable handles.
What is in a knife making kit?
A blade, a handle and the handle screws, ready to assemble in an evening. Fit the handle with the screws, then clean up the small allowance the CNC leaves along its edges with a file or a belt grinder. The screws come in a standard length, so you may need to shorten them, and you may want to open up the counterbores so the screw heads sit flush. The finished knives in the photos are examples; every kit arrives unassembled.
Kit or blank?
A kit is the quickest way to a finished knife. If you would rather shape your own handle from wood, G10 or micarta, start from one of our ground and heat treated knife blanks and pick handle materials to suit. Laser engraving and sharpening are free on every order.
