Field dressing rewards a blade that tracks under hide rather than through it. This profile keeps enough belly for long, controlled strokes.

1.4116 (X50CrMoV15) is tough, highly corrosion resistant and forgiving to sharpen. For a first build or a knife that will be abused, it is the sensible choice.

Every blank starts as certified Voestalpine stock. We profile and hand grind it in our own workshop, then send it back to Voestalpine for professional heat treatment.

The tang is drilled and profiled, so handle work is the only step left. Scales, pins, epoxy — the knife is done in an evening.
