Brass Pin - 8 mm (5/16")

Plain brass pin, the simplest and most reliable way to fix scales to a tang. Peened or epoxied, it disappears into the handle and lets the wood do the talking.

Match the diameter to the holes already drilled in your blank: our blade blanks use 4 mm (0.16 in), 6 mm (0.24 in) and 8 mm (0.31 in) depending on the model.

Eight millimetres is the heavy-duty option, used on our XL and hunting blanks where the handle takes real force. The larger pin also reads as deliberate on a big knife — a 4 mm (0.16 in) pin on a 250 mm (9.8 in) blade looks undersized even when it holds fine.
