DRY Padauk Knife Scales - Twin Pair

Rich, deep red straight out of the block — the most vivid natural colour of any hardwood we stock, with no dye involved. It is dimensionally stable and finishes to a glassy surface with almost no effort.

Worth knowing: padauk oxidises over months from orange-red toward a darker burgundy. Many makers prefer the aged colour, and a UV-blocking finish will slow it if you do not.

One purchase is a matched pair — two scales for a single full tang knife, cut from the same piece so the grain runs consistently across both sides.

Each piece is selected, cut and sanded by hand so the grain shows before you even start shaping. Air dried, ready to work, and stable enough to go straight onto a tang.
