Turkish olive burl cast in coloured epoxy, then cut into a bookmatched pair. Olive is one of the hardest and densest woods used for knife handles, and it is already oily enough to resist water; the resin fills the open burl and locks everything solid.

Blue is the colour that shows off olive burl best. Where the wood is dense the grain stays dominant; where it is open the resin floods through as deep translucent blue, so the two halves look related but never identical.

Works with any full tang blade blank. Sands and polishes like hardwood, takes a high shine without finish, and needs no stabilising because the resin has already done it.
